Mapstats de BlogFlux

Desde casi el inicio de TresOnce nos acompaña el servicio de estadísticas de BlogFlux, el cual se basa en Google Maps. En un principio esta característica fue la que me llevó a elegirlos, pero últimamente he tenido algunos desencantos.

En octubre pasado, después de un inicio esperanzador (casí 500 visitas en los 15 primeros días del blog), el contador tuvo un comportamiento extraño, perdiendo una gran parte de las visitas de ese mes.

Lo más reciente es que no contabiliza las visitas de todo un día entero, con el extravío que esto me produce, ya que da la sensación de que nadie está llegando aquí, cosa que no es cierta.

Para ser más concretos, en la pantalla de visitas del día, se puede ver el listado de ciudades desde las que se accede, pero estas visitas no se contabilizan. :(

Espero que se solucione cuanto antes (incluso me he puesto en contacto con ellos pidiéndo explicaciones), pero agradecería a cualquiera que me recomendase otro servicio gratuito de estadísticas.

Actualización 23 febrero: Parece que el servicio se ha reestablecido de forma afortunada en los últimos días. Según parece, los problemas sucedidos días atrás estaban motivados por un cambio de servidor. Esa es la idea principal que saco en base a la comunicación por email que han establecido con todos los usuarios. Dicho email es el siguiente:

Whew! It has been a while since I last emailed everyone (or at least feels like it), and quite a bit has happened.
First off - MapStats is fixed! Not only fixed, but move to its own server. We did a lot of tweaks - just to give an idea, what was taking 100 seconds before now takes only 1.66 seconds. The page should also load much faster - from a 5-7 second load time down to ~1 second. GrabPerf agrees: http://www.grabperf.org/homepage.php?page=scatter&test=136&hours=24 (it is that little green/yellow splotch on the right).
I also wanted to thank everyone for being patient with us. Lots of people let us know about the issues we were having - as always, we keep updates on our blog for anything that might be going on: http://blog.blogflux.com/
We are not out of the woods just set - we are monitoring things, but likely LinkLog will also be moved soon. With this last server move, it will mean Blog Flux is now split across four servers - one for the Page Rank checker (and ancillary subdomains), one for MapStats, one for LinkLog, and one for the main site/directory.
Speaking of our Page Rank checker - I was looking over some numbers, and we have checked the PR for almost 25,000,000 unique pages!
Just thought I would share some interesting numbers :)
Moving along, Blog Flux also crossed the landmark '10,000' blogs verified and listed. This is good news because the more blogs we have, the better our 'related' feature works for every blog listed. Eg AJAX Review - http://dir.blogflux.com/weblog/4026.html The related blogs actually are related (fancy that!) and a reader of the listed blog would likely be interested in these other blogs. It.s a feature we don't get a lot of attention for, but I think it is one of the best ways to find new and interesting blogs. Blog Flux Suggest is also another (albeit weird) way of finding blogs if you are exploring.
With all this talk of where Blog Flux is, I wanted to also mention my latest project - iBegin. I have a spiel all written out online, but iBegin is basically an attempt to create a local search that is actually useful. You can find more information at http://www.ibegin.com/about/ and http://www.ibegin.com/wth/ The system is currently in private beta, and if you are interested in trying it out, register on the site :). Toronto is our beta-test city so if you are a fellow Torontonian definitely go register. Feedback has between 'cool' to 'great' so it might just be worth checking out!
I also wanted to say that we will be launching another Blog Flux section within 72 hours. It isn't exactly 'revolutionary', but I think there is a void for what we are releasing it. It also marks the first section created by Jacob (who has been approving blogs and answering emails for a while now). More on him in a few weeks!
